City Taxation




	We should not forget that, after the whining of David Miller, the McGuinty Liberal government, on January 1, 2007, granted new taxation powers in City of Toronto Act 2006. The Act gives the council the authority to levy certain taxes. This resulted in the City of Toronto imposing new taxes and fees like: - An additional up to 2% Land transfer tax in addition to the provincial one. - New $60 vehicle registration tax in addition to $ 74 paid to the province.
