In 2009, The McGuinty government started to prepare the ground for a carbon tax under the cap and trade approach. It has a planned implementation in 2012. They are proposing amendments to the Environmental Protection Act. This proposal put the first steps in motion for a cap-and-trade system in Ontario. The proposed legislation is posted on the Environmental Registry under Registry number 010-6467 This is another McGuinty tax in the works. If you elect him for another 4 years, you will be paying for the CO2 you are exhaling.
